Beer Tasting 🍺 Abbaye de Vauclair - Impériale
Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you? I'm fine. Still on vacation, but we’re going home tomorrow. It’s hot at home, too - the temperatures are similar to here on the island. It’s just a little cooler at night. Well, the refrigerators and air conditioners here work well, so it’s bearable.
I’ve been saving one beer the whole time I’ve been here - it’s the last one, and today it’s finally my turn for #beersaturday #469.

A large French bottle - as you can see in the photo, I’ll be emptying it while I prepare some food, and I’ll be happy to share the experience with you.
Abbaye de Vauclair - Impériale

Brewed by Brasserie Goudale, Arques, France, for Lidl France. Bottle, 0.75 l, alcohol 7.5% ABV, IBU N/A.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Its light taste of special malts, flavored with Flanders hops and top-fermenting aromas, gives Imperiale all its character and balance. It is golden, dense, tasty and long on the palate.
🍺

The beer is golden in color, with an average head that dissipates quickly. It has no particular aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect the sweetness of malt and honey, along with notes of coriander, orange, and hints of caramel. All of these flavors fade in the aftertaste.

The beer is drinkable - a value beer, and better than expected, according to critics, but it’s not my cup of tea. It’s similar to Belgian styles, such as blonde ale, but with a French twist - more distinctly spiced and sweet for my taste. Apparently, this is intentional, especially when it’s brewed for a retail chain, as is the case here with Lidl. It’s available at local Lidl stores, and the price is reasonable: €2.45 per bottle.

As I mentioned, since today is our last day at the seaside (though we’ll be going again next month), I prepared a feast of scampi and assorted vegetables. Here are a few snapshots :) 😋

😋

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes, a new name for me and a pleasant surprise...
