Beer Tasting 🍺 at The Craft Beer Festival

#Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

This past Saturday, for #beersaturday #462, I was at the regional Craft Beer Festival in Rijeka, Croatia, and since things went on late into the night 😵‍💫 I’m only posting this now.

This is the second time this Craft Beer Festival has been organized. I didn’t go the first time because I didn’t know about it, but I decided to go this time, mostly to see what it’s like, since I’ve never been to one, even though I’m into beer - haha, meaning I drink it and have been posting about it for years. Fifteen craft breweries were present, including 11 from Croatia - Pulfer, Medvedgrad, Nova Runda, Zmajska Pivara, King’s Brew, Bura Brew, Brk Lee, Bruman, Maskeron, The Garden, and Big Joseph—as well as Reset from Slovenia, Bewog from Austria, Sibeeria from the Czech Republic, and Bereta from Romania.

The festival was held on the coast, at an old industrial hall now used for various events and gatherings. My wife, friends, and I arrived early, right when it opened. Admission was €18, which got you one glass and a few free samples.

When we arrived, it was pretty empty, but people started showing up.

We went through the lineup one by one; I’m familiar with the breweries Reset and Bewog, so I asked if they had anything new and tried the new Cold IPA - pretty good and refreshing - and from the Reset brewery, West of Nelson and Hot Haka, both of which were also pretty decent.

Maskeron is a new Croatian brewery from the Rijeka area, and they had a very good stout, Blackie.

Sibeeria is a Czech craft brewery from Prague; they offered a very good lager and an IPA.

And then on, one after another, from brewery to brewery. 🍻

Quite a few people had gathered outside.

Bura Brew from Poreč presented Trippin Tripel, a strong Belgian Golden Ale.

More and more people are in the hall.

And finally, a concert by local bands My Buddy Moose and Fit (in the short clip).

I definitely enjoyed the event, though it was pretty exhausting by the end 😵‍💫 If possible, we’ll come back next year.
